Great show, too expensive to buy all seasons!

Love Parks and Rec! So funny and positive. But why do we have to buy it if we have Prime? How bout a Premium level of Prime where All shows/movies are free?!

Too short!

We so need a spin-off! I would have given this five stars but the fact that there will be no more P&R episodes has left me heartbroken: so my last star off is a protest that this wonderful show ended so quickly and the last season had only 13 episodes. It could have gone for another 10 years, they had so many unique characters and fantastic performers playing them to develop beyond the core group. And Lesley Knope is far too great a character to let her rot away in syndication. She's Lucy and Mary Tyler Moore and Batman all rolled into one crazy hyperactive, slightly delusional package. The ending left little room for them to come back unless they play old versions of themselves or fill in the lost 10-20 years that they skipped through. My fantasy spin-off would feature the Sapersteins including their dad (played by a much-missed Henry Winkler), Jeremy Jamm, Perd Hapley and Craig. Central would be Ron's and his family, and Donna as the heroine. April and Andy could show up every now and then and there could be a perfect couple like Anne and Chris as well a self-absorbed character like Tom. Jerry of course, but since he became mayor, it would a little harder to kick him around. Oh well, I can dream....

Inspiring... until my dreams came crashing down

Verified purchase

Hey Amy,

Just wanted to let you know you are my biggest hero. You've inspired me to live out my dreams and designate a national park. I ended up exceeding my dreams and building a national park for the lizards that are in my area. I took an old fish tank and built a replica environment for them to live and play in. It took me 300 hours but it was well worth it and they seem very happy.

Come to think of it, it's exactly like their outside environment... which is directly outside my home... which means this was completely useless... which means I WASTED ALL MY TIME BUILDING THIS FOR THESE HELPLESS CREATURES. I can't believe I did this, I'll never have that time back. The lizards didn't even say thank you. Which, from what I learned from you, is typical since park services is typically a thankless job. Amy thank you for your inspiration but I can't watch any more of your productions because I've been betrayed by my dreams.

Sincerely,

Least favorite fan

A Satisfying End to an Incredible Show

Couldn't love this show more. Season 7 was more of a swan song for the show, so I would vote seasons 2-6 as the best work that they did, but the final season was extremely satisfying for fans. I was previously a passive fan of Amy Poehler (i.e. thought she was funny from SNL and a few of her movies) but this show made me truly admire her. She has a wider range than I had ever imagined and for me, this show cemented her as a serious performer. Writing, directing, acting - it all works and the chemistry is palpable, and the final season was a great way to say goodbye after so many successful years of a wonderful show. Bully for you, Leslie Knope!

A Completely Different Show

When I watched the season six finale and there was a skip forward, I was nervous, and as it turns out, I had every right to be. It's just not as good. It feels like there's more time spent playing catch up than telling new stories, and it just doesn't feel as cohesive as it used to. The flow and easy humor aspect has all but disappeared, and that was the best part of this show. I'm looking for to the rest of the season, and I'll be sad to say goodbye to Leslie and crew and Pawnee, but I wish it would have stayed more true to itself for its final season.

This TV show has seriously changed my life for the better. This tv series has taught me how to be positive and to never give up. I really did enjoy Chris Traeger when he was introduced to the series. Watching how positive he was always sparked some postivity inside myself. He is LITERALLY one of my most favorite characters apart from Ron Freakin' Swanson. Ron Swanson was the reason I even watched the show, and I am glad I did. Seeing all the Ron memes really pushed me into watching the series and I regret nothing. This show is a must watch for all.
